The University of Georgia’s Division of Marketing & Communications is an adaptive and innovative organization committed to advancing the goals and priorities of the university. A trusted partner and reliable resource, the division develops and manages the institutional brand and reputation, reinforces the university’s relevance in the lives of key target stakeholder groups, encourages community engagement and plays a catalytic role in fulfilling the mission of the university.
The goals of the Division of Marketing & Communications are:
- To establish and promote the institutional message.
- To build an infrastructure for success and provide communications tools and guidelines for our peers across campus.
- To support the university community and marketing and communications fields.
We partner with key university units to develop research-driven, results-oriented communications, marketing and media plans that advance university objectives and tell the institution’s story.
Our teams produce communications planning, writing and editing, media engagement, photography, video production, graphic design, social media and website development for high-visibility projects that align with institutional priorities. We help UGA units identify outside resources and vendors to complete their marketing projects. We also deliver media training, develop media outreach plans and work with units to share research breakthroughs, stories of teaching and learning, and examples of community partnerships with the broader UGA community.
Additionally, we convene groups for social media, digital marketing, magazine editors, visual designers, web developers and research communicators, working with communications professionals across campus to help develop strategies and visual communications that align with the UGA brand and meet unit objectives.
